First Aid Kit

Hi all,

Apologies if asked/answered before - did have a search, but couldn’t find anything.

Does anyone know what first aid kit/equipment we should have on a squadron, for a standard parade night? Is it written down anywhere ACTP/ACP/etc wise?

If there is a written requirement, are we able to demand this through the RAF supply chain?
(If not - should we be able to? Discuss…)

As usual, if anyone has chapter/verse for their answers it helps immensely!

(EDIT - realised I should specify what kind of “equipment”)

Not that I’ve ever seen.

I go with an ‘HSE approved’ kit for the number of people. We actually have a couple of kits.

Plus we add some extra bits (we have burn gels and cold packs) and extra plasters for the usual small curs. I’m sure paper is the most dangerous equipment we use!

Apparently we can demand but then it’s on inventory… and we’ve never actually got anything out of parent station stores first aid wise.

You can demand them. I got one recently. It’s basic and only really suitable for classroom based learning inside on a squadron.

We request through our Wing First Aid Officer. I presume they are provided by our parent statuon but could be wrong!

As PEP says they are fairly basic but perfectly fine for Squadron based activities. We have then purchased additional kits through our Civilian committee for things like AT.
