FCI(T) Courses

Where would one find out when or where these courses run? SharePoint?

We don’t have a Wing Fieldcraft Officer anymore, and I’ve realised I may not have a current FCI qual because it wasn’t signed off properly by the last one, so I may as well do the better qual,

@dazizian should be able to help (if he can’t likely no one can!)

This has been hit and miss for over a decade…

Just go to an M Qual

But does M qual allow you to teach FT?

:rofl::joy:

I have literally no interest in doing blank and pyro at a wing level.

Hello. This course will never be run again. It won’t be needed with the incoming changes to how we qualify to instruct fieldcraft. I’ll say no more for now but please don’t assume it’s bad news …

M Qual is for blank and pyro (and, stupidly, for some irrelevant bits in ACFTI 1 without B&P but let’s not go there), not for training new instructors.

Ok, in that case I’ll just carry on doing squadron level stuff.

Any ideas on timescale?

Two small trials have already been run. We’re due to run the first full-scale of the proposed new regime in November.

Really … no more details now.

How exciting.
Hopefully unlocks FC for the org which until recent has been a dark art

Certainly the aim. Hopefully not just a dream!

I know of a FCI course being run in the next few months?

FCI(T) is what will never be run again.

Ah, got you

Sussex has one this weekend - not that helpful but it shows they are being run.

FCI courses, yes, but not FCI(T) courses.

FCI(T) was the one ATF used to run.

Picking-up on this … FCI(T) vs no FCI(T) should make zero difference between fieldcraft on- and off-Sqn, or Sqn-level vs any other level.

Equally, the original issue seems to be FCI courses not being signed off - is there a fix for that?

Neg.

Back in the day we cracked on. No issues at all.
Then it became very locked down from about 2005 onwards. Its only these recent years its been a real testical ache.
