Another reason apart from I don’t want to go into uniform is: I shave, I bleed 
no matter how I shave, what I prepare my face with I get blotchy red spots with bleeding. Hence my big buff beard

You just need a basic letter saying why you shouldn’t shave and “can this be taken into consideration”. you send it to hqac and they put it on universe. I went through ATF with a beard…
