Exercise Aide Memoirs

Strangely enough, I heard the opposite.

Those with a Q-X-AR can move it. It’s the 3-day Authorised Representative course at Cosford which is as boring as watching a wheel-clamp rust in the rain.

I know some that are.

As do I…

Think some duff info has been bandied about

Must be the first time that’s happened in the ACO.

I’m as shocked as you are…!

The AR does not clear for 1.9 I am told, you might know different which would be of interest as I am told it is to clear people to move 1.4 which is all ACO staff can move.

The ACF use their CAA to move theirs so not sure what qual they have. In any case it is quite easy to go along and join in with the ACF doing this as they have all the gear and all the specialists to deliver it. We will be doing it again early next year with no problems from HQACO.

Authorised Representatives are trained in the movement of all class 1 expolsives pyro is 1.4G

so all DG qualified people can move it- result!

All we need is some to draw on!

Am afraid not DG training only covers loads of 1.4s and as pyro is a different compatability group you are not suitable trained. If you look at the certficate issued it should state on it for the movement of 1.4s by aco personnel

As db said - the AR qual does cover it, but I dont know of any outside of SATTs.

Or an ADR driving licence, which is a higher standard.

Having completed my RMQ course late last year, I was taught to complete a RASP/EASP as that gave you the overarching picture for the RAM/EAM. The idea being in future we can complete the RAM/EAM. If in doubt do both, you just pull the pertinent information for the RAM/EAM. Did some battle lessons last month and had an overall EASP with each instructor having an EAM

Moi. And I’m not on a SATT.

Yeah but Gunner, you’re old

RAF Cosford, summer 2011. Course started on Monday morning at 0900 and by 0930 I was draped backwards over my chair snoring like a bas… snoring person.

Sorry to ressurect the thread, but…

Going back to the original post…while sadly skimming through SharePoint, I noticed TG Policy Letter 3-13, dated June 2013.

Although I never saw it disseminated through email, it states that with immediate effect, all FT is to be authorised through the use of EAMs, rather than EASPs.

Again, awesome promulgation.

I’m assuming that ACP16 has been updated to reflect the change?

I would check, but of course I can’t get on to Ultilearn yet again… and can’t re-set the password because the boss is on holiday, etc…

Of course it hasn’t.

I can’t see the problem in using an EASP rather than an EAM, as the EASP contains the same key information and more in addition. The rationale maybe being however that by using an EAM you should be able to brief all of the key points, while if you use an EASP you may miss something while skimming through the non-briefable bits. That said any instructor worth his salt shouldn’t make that sort of rookie error anyway.
