To be fair, Jämtlands is a rather large county and Sveg is probably the largest town in the county besides its capital, Östersund. And its only got 2500ish people living there…
Now this is a thread drift.

Start a separate thread? Call it Swedish House Mafia
The UK song was technically very well sung - but it was a very “safe” song, nowhere near what seems to be the required “edginess” for Eurovision.
I still think the best for quite a while was Lordi:
"…the lead singer, Mr Lordi, stated before the final that the only planned changes were that “We’ll scream louder. And turn the amps up.”
The only time I ever voted on Eurovision
Yeah that got stuck in my brain while I was trying to sleep.
So how many/few countries do we think will take part in 2026?
So far Ireland, Netherlands, Spain & Slovenia have withdrawn, Iceland and Belgium are considering doing so.
Regardless of your thoughts on Israel’s participation, it’s very dirty tactics by the EBU to tie the Israeli issue and voting issues together to avoid a vote.
I reckon this is the start of the waterfall of countries not participating.
Whoever made these decisions on behalf of their countries, seem to be out of touch with their viewers.
Interestingly Germany made the opposite threat, saying they would pull out of Israel was excluded.
Is a big part of the problem that Israel paid massive amounts of money to launch advertising campaigns in loads of countries to gain votes of the viewers vote, which makes this sort of void.
Does it really though? People aren’t going to suddenly vote Israel becaise of an Ad Campaign they are going to already agree/sympathise with Israel befkre the adverts.
Yes and no. Advertising does work. It’s why it’s everywhere and why it’s a multi-trillion pound industry.
Israels government spent a significant amount of cash on this advertising. Loads of videos, long form, short form. And loads of adverts placed through Googles system covering Youtube and similar. Also, actively pushing for people to vote 20 times.
My point is that you can’t base the views of opinions of Israel purely based on the televotes.
Just seen this:
Absolutely love this guy! Unsure how well he’ll do for Eurovision, but his YouTube antics are always good. Proper engineer mind combined with a musical one.
Love seeing his engineering and electronics projects. He’s also a good musician using his rejuvinated/modified and built synths - all looking a bit Heath Robinson with an interesting character.
He’s from my neck of the woods! His museum is great, would recommend to anyone in the area!
How we feeling bout tonight? Anyone watched the semi-finals or got an inkling of which way it will go?
Whichever way the vote goes, it’ll somehow end up being controversial for Israel.
Did anyone see his interview on the Beeb evening news yesterday? They clearly didn’t give the reporter as long a slot as he expected, because the editing was slightly mad - conversation changed every 2 seconds!
A total waste of UK taxpayers money. The BBC should pull out, but they won’t, as a country we can’t get anyone decent to perform.
We are a laughing stock, both performers and foR putting money into it
