Hypothetically, if there is a CWO at a CCF who is 17, once they turn 18, can they be commissioned or enter as a CI /SNCO to an ATC unit while still being a CWO, or would they also have to be uniformed CFAV at their original CCF unit? This confuses me as with the new rules, once cadets turn 18, they can go into the uniformed CFAV route, but this leaves the CCF(RAF) section unclear on what HQ RAFAC’s position is.
I belive there is a specific part of one of the JSPs that states you can not be a staff member and a cadet at the save time, even across seperate cadet forces. This would apply here I’d assume.
Specifically you cannot be a CFAV & a cadet.
in addition specifically to the CCF you cannot be a CFAV whilst also a pupil at the school - it’s something in CCF regulations rather than RAFAC so it takes precedence.
The old CCF option use to be Under Officer, which generally confuses the ATC but works within the CCF.
In theory you could be a CFAV at an ATC unit or ACF or SCC & secund back?
However I think you might be best to make the jump once you complete sixth form.
So in theory the CWO could finish their time in the CCF once they finish school then go into a local ATC unit and go straight into uniformed staff?
That’s my understanding yes provided the have a record on bader (which is a bigger can of worms)
I believe currently 18-19 year olds have only been accepted as CIs….
That’s if they discharged from Bader/Westminister!!
I imagine number of ccf(RAF) cadets entered onto bader in the first place is quite low.
The new API creates them from Westminster as I recall now, and keeps personal data in sync.
They will be on SMS as otherwise can’t do any exams for classifications.
Is this now live as I heard it what still being piloted?
