Enjoying the weather…

So, was everyone out today enjoying the weather like the Comdt or were they stuck in a classroom like me and about 40 other volunteers doing training ….

I don’t mean to be blunt, but are you annoyed at the Commandant for enjoying the nice weather, because you happened to be doing training this weekend?

The man ain’t perfect, but enjoying the nice weather isn’t really an issue I have with him. He can’t be doing cadet related stuff 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.

I don’t have an issue with him enjoying the nice weather, we all should when we can. I was just frustrated having been indoors on such a lovely day. One of the sacrifices we make for cadets.

Then don’t be? You’re a volunteer… You can simply…not?

Some people.

Others never say yes :man_shrugging: I’m on ratios for a super cheap visit to RIAT.

I’d certainly be avoiding classroom courses for the next 4 months.

Its a balance

Classroom courses for the winter. Outdoor activities for the summer. Simple.

Too hot equals PAUSE PAUSE back to the classroom.

It’s been a great weekend for a basic fieldcraft camp.

Tsk, tsk, shooting, shooting, & more shooting!

That works. Winter: IWT, indoor ranges and DCCT. Summer: outdoor ranges inc long ranges. Perhaps add in some blank and pyro during the summer too.

Nice! Hope a good time was had by all.

But how dare you be outside in this lovely weather. I’m in the gym right now. And I could be outside enjoying the weather.

Instead I’m inside of my own choice improving myself in my hobby.

It’s not like this is totally voluntary and I could go outside instead.

Oh. Wait

Just had a lovely walk along the K and A Canal. Found a nice little wild swimming area.

Lovely stuff.
I’ve taken the lad to the park for the last few hours. But if a melt down when other kids wanted to use the swings, so a little lesson on turns there…

Eww. Where?

I would have preferred rain today (although not good for our solar panels!) - the long haired general had me planting a fruit tree this afternoon. Ground was like concrete!

Get a gardener, far easier.

The grass specialist starts first treatment tomorrow.
