As we start to get into summer parade territory and Wing Drill Competitions, drill’s being bumped higher up the training programme priority list.
Being a keen drill person myself I’ve no problem spending significant amounts of time perfecting movements, but I am looking to the ACC hive-mind for any top-tips for maintaining and spreading engagement among cadets (especially those that haven’t come to develop a taste in drill yet).
Things I’ve come across before:
- Sgt/FS/WO Says
- Carrying out the previous command (always makes me thing of this sketch)
- Basic continuity drill (although I’ve never tried to run this myself - tips/tricks appreciated)
What do you do locally, or do you keep bashing through turns until they’re perfect every time?
