Farewell. Hope you find a good expensive piece of furniture to be your scratching post on the other side
On that theme, anyone here do flyball with their dogs? Just wondering if there would be interest in a RAFAC team?
My chonk is built for stamina not speed sadly I have done competitive obedience with her and she’s quite good, I think she’d enjoy chasing other dogs in fly ball and not much else. Great idea though, I’ll happily be the logistics manager for the team
We don’t I’m afraid, everything else but that. The insane amount of barking at any flyball event I’ve ever watched put me off. We do agility, gundog trials and scentwork.
I must admit I do find the amount of barking quite off putting too but the dogs seem to enjoy it. Good for burning off doggie energy.
I think you can do it as a DofE skill but getting a Sqn team together would be an interesting paperwork exercise.
The whip isn’t ball obsessed enough to take to it, and anyway, taking a whippet to flyball is basically the doggie equivalent of doping, isn’t it?
I think that’s when you use a furry tug as a reward for the ball to encourage them.
It does seems to be whippets , greyhounds & collies with flyball plus a few spaniels (although one team did have a husky).
So the hound has got through the final 6 of a work comp, id kindly appreciate it if yoh voted for Jaffa on this insta story
Done! Although every fibre of my being was urging me to vote for the Samoyed good luck
