DofE junior leader is it worth it?

So i have been considering whether to be a junior Leader for DofE . Apart from 1 cadet who recieved theirs through school ,none of the rest have done DofE. We don’t currently have any qualified leaders etc. Alot of them are keen to do it but I’m getting very mixed opinions about it from other staff elsewhere etc that it’s alot of work and hassle.

Could anyone that does or has done DofE leader what is your opinions of it and do you find it worth doing. Also what are the main issues you find trying to deliver it.

Lastly am i right in saying we can deliver Blue Pre DofE at squadron without been a Leader?

thanks again for your advice much appreciated

Yes to Pre-DofE - any staff can do it.

Three of us have done the DofE leader - I did mine the old way when it was a face to face course, and the other two did the new way online.

We found it easy and simple to do - both ways! And its now meant for us it’s 10 times easier to run DofE at the squadron.

100% recommend doing it.

The DofE Leader is now done via an online course, if you email your Wing DofE Officer they’ll be able to create you an account and get you set up with the Learning Pathway.
If you’ve got Cadets that would like to do DofE and no DofE Leaders it’s great that you are interested in doing it as that means your Cadets will now have the opportunity.
The new Learning Pathway is completed at your own pace, you can complete it in one go or do 20mins and then come back to it the next day.
100% recommend you do it, I believe you’re in SNI Region? PM me if you are

Just found out this existed! I’ve just tried to look into it, but unfortunately not much has came up. What do young leaders get to do? To what extent can they help with delivering DofE on unit?
