DI belt and metal wings 😱

i’ve been doing more of my Social media stalks and spotted a couple of things i Find interesting and hoping others can give me some more detail

I saw a photo of a CFAV DI with the White courlene belt, but there was courlene behind the belt buckle (Stable belt)

I’m just intrigued on how, or why. As far as i’m aware These belts A) don’t like being bent around so it can’t be a continuation of the excess and B) don’t like being stitched together

A certain Air officer made an appearance in 2A and i spotted some Metal wings

Are they RAF? i can’t Quite tell(they look Like it I just can’t read them to confirm).
where are they from and does this mean wings and Ribbons and such are coming to shirts?

They are indeed! I’m sure @Cab will happily tell you about them.

But the TLDR is a RAF IBN has come out allowing private purchase of these wings. They can be purchased here, and some money goes towards the RAFBF, which is nice.

Medal ribbons next…

An interesting development, though. Maybe linked to a desire to get more people in no. 2s in their office jobs?

Think that it’s linked to the RAF IBN that was shared here recently with the adoption of MTP barrack shirts and the abandoning of the Astra uniform?

I can’t believe medals ribbons weren’t first, especially given that at least one air attaché is already wearing them.

Correct, private purchase of flying badges from RAF Benevolent Fund (as per link above).

I thought there was a different brass buckle for white belts, rather than the silver stable belt / working belt one?

Point D. Also calling out when on DI Dutiea

Everyone else and every other scenario its the brass eyelet style

I was thinking more No. 1 ceremonial than drill instruction. Like this:

The buckles look brass to me rather than chrome, but it could be the low resolution image / my old eyes.
