Logistically would only make sense if we bought Leopards.
The new M109 Paladin is based on the Bradley IFV, which is also the basis for the MLRS.
Something built on the ASCOD/Ajax hull or even Boxer should also be possible, there are photos of a 155mm turret on a Boxer doing the rounds.
But if I were putting my money down it would be the M109A7, as it can be bought off the shelf. Itās a BAe Systems product too.

Could the RM and there desire to change role have an impact on the Fleet Air Arm and the need for the Merlins in the Transport role?

Probably not - they want to become a raiding force, so airlift will be a big part of what they do.
I spent a LOT of my time airdropping them and their RIBs out of Albert.

I havenāt kept that close an eye on it, but I doubt it.
Challenger 3 is a thing, but only 148 of them. Boxer is being the vehicle of choice and warrior is going to be kept until it falls apart, no upgrades.
Some chinooks will go. They will commit to a medium lift helicopter at some point.

Pretty good summary.
1 Inf Bn to go. 4 to become Rangers. Some interesting stuff around more air defence (land and for the T45s), sea to sea missiles, upgraded Apaches. Maybe they will put a heavier weapon on the Boxer. As ever the devil will be in the detail.
Not sure what will replace the T1 Hawks.

Interesting I noted the type 83 to Replace the Type 45 destroyers. I donāt know if thatās good or bad.
A Type 4x warship means itās primarily anti aircraft
A type 8x is a general purpose ship.
You hope it will be well equipped and not as little as possible.
