As I say above above I’m fully in agreement the budgies are not needed anyway.
…but the Staff wearing them on VGS’s have gone through the required level of training to be VGS ‘Aircrew’ (granted …not regular level, which is why they have force (RAFAC) designators attached to the rank slide …same as for Officer ranks (or even any NCO rank!) …they have gone through training to a much lesser level …..but suitable for the RAFAC needs!

CCF here, I’ve always addressed CWOs as ‘Mr Bloggs’ - it’s only ever used for our ‘head of corps’ (head of 200+ cadets) and will be upper 6th so it seems appropriate.
