Current Requirements to Apply for an VRT Commission

Hello there,

Does any one have the latest copy of what are the requirements to apply for a VRT commission are?

Any news when the commission guide to going to be updated to refelct new processes involved?

Requirements : sense of humour and certified (or at least certifiable) :wink:

Other than that willing, over 20 and under 55 (although not sure if that is enforceable under the Equality Act 2010).

You’ll have to undergo a ‘scripted’ standardised interview at Wing to ascertain readiness.

Other than that I’ve never seen anything to suggest anything special.

I have recently gone through the new OASC process and have been successful, the usual process of mock board at sqn, then another mock at wing during a potential officers weekend, then wing Board. once that is over, its off to RAFC Cranwell for the selection. Most of the pre learning information and downloadable booklet is available on bader sharepoint on the ATF courses section. good luck

I don’t think there are any plans to update the commissioning guide at the moment unless there is a real demand to do so…

It is interesting that no one mentions the start point of a recommendation from your Squadron commander which is needed to start the ball rolling, no recommendation no Wing staff officer interview.

It is not a right to apply for it.

Then your Screwd on at least 3 Squadrons in my Wing, unless your a family member.
