Anyone know how this is funded?
This used to be handled by the the SI’s parent service but that seems to have changed.
I’d imagine that they’d be provided free in the same way as any other CFAV.
As far as I’m aware you can do it in the normal way.
DBS are required bits of paper if you work with any group regarded as vulnerable as a result they are paid for by the employer or voluntary group. If you were expected to pay for it just to tick an administrative box either for employment or voluntary work, those particular organisations would I imagine be hard to populate.
Regard it as an indirect tax on companies and volunteer organisations.
This seems to be a reoccurring issue with various SI. Repeatedly the question comes up, should it be paid for by the parent service or the ACO.
I can firmly say that this sits with the ACO and the ACO alone. The parent service will struggle to submit a business case for such a thing to their budget holder and besides the ACO holds a budget for DBS.
