Apparently the Sun’s offering few deliveries for something like three months, so that’s you basically set for the decade.
I knew keeping all those copies of the Metro was a good idea… The cadets have helpfully not been using them for their intended purpose - protecting the damned tables whilst modelling.
Should be a fair few photos of Trump in there too as a bonus.
The question now is whether we just effectively skip 2020 and include the same units in the 2021 event, or is 2020 considered “burned” and 2021 goes ahead with other invitees.
I’m still planning and organising training events for April and May, mostly trying to be optimistic.
But I know that I’ll be cancelling them soon.
Everyone was invited to RIAT2020 - all depend if you placed a bid with your Wing POC if you were successful.
i predict the process will start over.
when we return Cadet numbers will be different as some Cadets choose not to return, interest in RIAT will have changed per Squadron and so being issued 3 places for 2 interested Cadets is pointless
Farnborough also cancelled
You can write off all of the Air Shows plus Trooping the Colour, the Station Open Days and despite what Japan are claiming the Olympics.
Just seen the email about all the activities that have been cancelled.
What is the RAFAC Awards Ceremony? I’ve never heard of it.
It’s where Calamity Jane dresses up as Generalissimo of the World and makes a 5 hour speech listing her achievements.
Ah well… Today’s email announcement has put that into touch…
No surprise really. Sounds like 10 weeks off distance learning etc
Why are some people showing surprise about things being cancelled?
We like going to EH properties during Easter bur can’t until perhaps May, c’est la vie in current nonsense.
Things not happening this year will become the norm. I can see people in the ATC looking to arrange a hurry and wait parade or similar if restrictions get lifted.
I am pleased that it seems highly likely that VE Day may now get lost in this and we can look to commemorating VJ.
Already happened in Bristol, was announced last week.
I suspect that even that might be optimistic!
Amongst cadet awards they award top student from OIC and SSIC with their presentations at cranwell
Don’t they present the Dacre at the same time?
Yep. That’s the one
There is no block on the activity at all, it just can’t be done in uniform as an official activity organised by CFAVs. Cadets and CFAVs are all still at liberty to volunteer as they see fit.
Now, Armed Forces Day anyone?
