Do as i say but not as i do???
except it isn’t even that as the first levels below HQAC are not doing it…

The vast majority of posts I see from units are from accounts who’s profile picture is still not compliant too… Can’t blame them really.
As I said before if it’s ignored long enough it will go away.
I saw one sqn who put the rafac logo tiled inside their existing logo.
However, that’s clearly an unauthorised badge and not even one that would be a candidate for submission for approved status.
So Wales and West are the only ones, 1 out of 6, actually following the rules, having decided to just go with the RAFAC logo!
The brand guidelines are bad guidelines, having the 2 side by side as a profile picture looks gopping. What C&E have with the badge on the profile pic and the RAFAC logo alongside it in the header looks far better.
If they want to go this route then the need to give Squadrons permission to put the Squadron Number/Name in the RAFAC logo.
This would match the brand guidance that RAF units seem to be following.
I do agree!
This looks the nicest, and is pretty consistently what RAF stations and teams use.
But, this goes directly against our own guide, which says explicitly not to do this!
I can say my unit has been approached to “get compliant” despite the regions not being compliant.
So let’s stop talking bout it……
My understanding is that each and every one of those is approved, rather than stations, professions, teams, etc., doing their own thing.
Given there is variety amongst them in terms of colour, spacing, size etc I assumed not!
Also, using the right tool HQ could easily generate some nice logos with each of our unit names underneath, and then supply the vectors to all units.
Even AI can do a half decent job now. Here’s ChatGPTs attempt asking it to copy the RAFAC logo implicitly, but add Eastbourne undernearth:
Not perfect, but a first attempt without tweaks.
(AI is not the right tool here, but thought it would be fun! Adobe has data-driven graphics tools that would work.)
Rolls Royce Sqn might have some issues though…
But we’re not Royal Air Force Air Cadets Anytown.
We’re Anytown Squadron Air Training Corps.
Or the RAF section of Anyschool CCF.
Just looked on the media hub and lo and behold there is one graphic for a pop up banner. Has any stout yeoman possess graphics for a cadet pop up recruiting banner. Our ones are very old and completely wrong.
However, this is where is contradicts itself - it says the “badge” should be in a subordinate position to the RAFAC Logo - so surely that should mean the “badge” goes to the right of the RAFAC logo?
I suppose in their 2 examples, the RAFAC logo is larger than the badges? Ergo, subordinate?
Interested to know why it wouldn’t be accepted?
