Your making the mistake in think the corps has any common sense of course it dosent and they will make those in that situation attend a second time for “reasons”
An updated IBN is now live on Sharepoint.
And still insisting on the SCC being residential after being told in the past there was no need for it to be or plans to do so (by TK himself)
Perfect comms.
Changes in place from Jan. IBN released at the end of March.
Had a number from our WO g attended the new course. Feedback has been positive
Anyone know the reasoning behind the courses completely avoiding weekends? Why is CIC only going to run Mon-Fri? Sort of screws over those of us who work Mon-Fri as we have to take a whole week off! Why not offer a Thu-Sun? Or two back to back weekends of Fri-Sun? It would make it a lot more accessible!
Same for the SCC. Why Mon-Wed only? Why not do some Fri-Sun ones too?
Has someone once again forgotten that they are training people that have another full time job…
Ask the question of the CoC
If nothing heard back go straight to ATF, or whatever they’re called.
Because if its anything like Air Traffic Control/Fire Cover at some of the AEFs the RAF only work Mon-Fri, 9-5
I imagine because the people that run it and the people they pull in to speak don’t work weekends, and once again people forget that we’re volunteers.
I like that they insist it’s residential even though they know that when Halton moves it’ll be a nightmare, and their own study proved virtual didn’t lose any training benefit.
If that doesn’t scream “we’re doing it this way because I say so” and ignoring the facts I don’t know what does.
Must be from a technique the unreleased platinum leadership syllabus.
The people at ATF aren’t in the RAF. They might cosplay it, and they may well have once been, but they’re not any more. That excuse doesn’t (pardon the pun) fly.
More people need to boycott the courses. Vote with our feet. I’ll certainly not attend SCC while it’s residential.
Why do you think we have so many CIs
Interesting debate on where FTRS sits then…
Also depends on which grade of FTRS.
I too am avoiding it at all costs, can’t see any reason why it can’t be done virtually
I’m still somewhat confused as would this effect SNCOs going into Commission who has already attended SSIC. Does this mean that any new officers from SNCO has to attend a CIC and cover exactly what they done in SSIC?
If not, then surely that would get rid of white tabs for ex SNCOs and they would be promoted directly to Plt Off.
Would save a-lot of time for the volunteers having to re attend and it will help drive more SNCOs to get their CFC
The IBN states that SNCOs who have only done the old course have to do the new course when commissioning (which makes sense as it means everyone is working on latest info)
It’s quite clear I think
CFAVs who undertake the CIC as a SNCO and then wish to Commission following the Cse will not be required to repeat the CIC.
Those personnel who have previously attended the legacy SSIC and are now looking
to undertake a Commission will still be required to undertake the CIC.
Didn’t see that bit, must have misread the text! Thanks
