That is a fair point… But sadly, no. In this case I don’t think it did.
At least, not to the people who needed to be aware of that.
To my knowledge we are still using those kits on the NCO courses, and I suspect that just as when I was routinely assessing on them, it’s still a whole day proving nothing more than that the Cadets didn’t apparently understand the lessons delivered on the previous day.
Though, that is from my perspective as an instructor/assessor.
Those staff who’ve never instructed/assessed on the Wing NCO courses would probably not have that insight; and indeed, such an exercise even if it were working very well for the cadets would probably still be seen as a complete waste of time on a staff conference.
