Civil Air Patrol

Ah, here I’ve been rushing to get ready for cadet competition.

Only assault pioneers (but not just the pioneer sgt).

Disclosure,

not a rank rather a job title

I’ve never seen anything like that before that’s pretty cool

Yeah beards are awesome.

Those beards definitely appear to be longer than 1” or grade 8, suggesting pioneer sergeants still exercise certain privileges.

Hi, from looking online i’m interested in how your cadet officer ranks work, are they entitled to a salute by more junior cadets/staff?
In the RAFAC we only have cadet NCOs!

Funnily enough that’s what we are preparing for currently - the Royal Air Squadron Trophy competition which is for the Combined Cadet Force RAF sections (~Air Force JROTC). Regional comp on Sunday, final in March.

Yes, our cadet NCO’s and cadet Airmen salute officers (outside only). When indoors, we say the greeting of the day, so like “good Morning, sir/ma’am”

Do your Non-Commissioned staff (assuming you have those) salute Cadet Officers?

ALSO

They are offensive to the eyes

O-1 to O-4 bear a striking resemblance to our Army / RM ranks (if you replace the circles with diamonds and the diamond with a crown).

I can see why they might not have wanted to use crowns and Bath Stars

What do you mean?! All of them or just the Airman ranks

Nuh uh

I mean US enlisted rank insignias generally are way overcomplicated. Too many stripes and rockers, how are people meant to tell who that is quickly and at a distance? Especially on the tiny little velcro rank bit on your combat uniforms.

There are too many stripey things mate you’ve got to admit that

How do your new cadets learn all of that :sob:

Ours struggle enough! (If I had a pound for every time I’ve been called ‘sir’ or ‘sgt’.)
