I did say this wouldn’t be popular :-). Its how our Squadron operates and of course, everyone can run theirs in a way they like within the rules.

As a CI I enjoyed joining the cadets during drill, Now as a Baby Sgt awaiting my SSIC I join the first class Cadets to polish up my drill . we have even had all the staff on the squadron on the square being drilled
by our senior cadet flight sgt and it being marked by our 2 cadet flight commanders

only last month i filled an empty space in the drill squad. There was little for me to do other than wait for the drill session to end before my lessons started so joined in! I have no problem with being in the Squad

Ever thought ATC age rules prevent some CIs going into uniform?
I have just moved into uniform and the last time l did drill was 30+ years ago. So l will be learning alongside our new junior cadets.
Will l make mistakes yes, but we will be learning together, and l think that makes for a stronger squadron
