Right, quick question here. When the CCF contingent gets funding, is it from the respective forces ie. RAF provides funding for the RAF section and Army for the CCF (Army)? Or does the MoD provide for the whole contingent and it is split up seperatly? Only we have recently been stripped of MTP and shoved backed into DPM under the pretence of “The RAF doesn’t fund for MTP”. Only I question this as when I have been on camps there has been talk of the CCF budget not the Army/RAF budget.
Many Thanks,

My limited understanding of the whole CCF funding is that it is mainly 'army who pay for everything and the RAF / Navy get to do their little bit at their good will.
As for No 3 Uniform (combats) the ATC only funds JL and SATT for No 3 uniform. So the statement RAF doesn’t fund MTP is correct. But they didn’t fund DPM either.
The Army fund the CCF as a whole but MTP is only scaled for the Army Sections.
Neither of the above is correct.
Very roughly the Army pays for:
all weapons, ammunition, rations, ranges at schools, the SSI, (via RFCAs) CCF buildings, HQ functions as the CCF now comes under Army control overall
all Army section uniforms, pay
Cadet Training Teams
Army section courses
The RN and RAF pay for:
all RN/RAF section uniforms*,pay
ranges on RAF stations**
flying/afloat training vessels
RN/RAF section courses
RN Area Instructors and RAF TEST teams
HQs for both services
Probably forgotten loads. Anyway the main point is *neither RN nor RAF funds combat clothing of any sort; just like the ATC. When CS95 was binned in favour of MTP, Wg Cdr CCF brokered a deal whereby instead of CS95 clothing being backloaded for disposal or binned, it was donated to RAF sections. Most CCFs however have managed to ‘acquire’ surplus MTP for their RAF sections, usually second hand from Army section cadets who have left. However this isn’t always above board and shouldn’t have been done; and in some cases this is being clamped down on…
**some RAF stations will tell you that they don’t provide ranges, and will try to stop CCF RAF cadets using RAF ranges - they will say you must use Army ones. You need to check the Parenting Statement for your unit but your Parent Station (the same one you get your uniforms from) is almost certainly required also to provide you with access to ranges. Someone on ACC helped me out when i had a problem with this… The Army, to be fair to them, have never, ever tried to prevent my use of a range on financial grounds.

I stand corrected (although in mitigation, I would suggest the Army pay the lions share!..)
Sorry, that was a bit brutal! Both the command & control and the financing of the CCF are obscure - and even DYER gave up trying to capture the non-public cost of CCFs.
