Camp Accommodation

Does anyone here know if Annual camp RAF Linton on Ouse is tented or Mess? For staff/cadets

Last time I went was 2011: hard accommodation for both staff and cadets.

It was a block in 2012. A haunted block. Have fun.

Having slept in that block when it was otherwise completely empty, I can confirm that it definitely is haunted.

Along with every block in H.M Forces :stuck_out_tongue:

Apart from these modern, Sodexo administrated blocks… fitted for but not with ghosts… mutter mutter…

Story time!

There’s not really much to it, apart from that I was the only person in the building, but I could definitely hear footsteps, doors, and cupboards being opened and closed.

I won’t explain why I was there but it was in unusual circumstances and there was definitely nobody else around. In fact, on the night in question, I’m not sure if there was anyone on station at all except the guards.

Accommodation was in Tait Block last time I was there, it’s an old WW2 Bomber Base so I’m sure ghost stories are plentiful.

Spent many a night at Linton on Ouse as a cadet in Central & East Yorkshire WIng. There were a few ghost stories associated to the base even back then. It’s actually a lovely place when not shrouded in eerie mist. All adds to the mystery…

Spent a weekend sleeping in there one February! The heating didn’t work! No other accomodation was available (shock horror). There was snow on the ground!

We all pulled our matresses into the kitchen, propped open the drying room door (electically heated) and slept on the kitchen floor as it was the only warm place!
