Cadet DI requirements

(Edited) What are the requirement for Cadets doing SSDIC

From a recent calling order for a Drill Training Course (Instruction):

This course is open to Cadet NCOs and CFAV SNCOs/WOs. Further, those applying must have:
• A working knowledge and practical ability in the foot drill commands listed in ACTO 027.
• High personal standards and competence in practical drill.
• (Cadet NCO applicants) Successful completion (to at least Pass level) of the Wing Initial NCO Course.
• (CFAV SNCOs/WOs) Endorsement to attend from the WWO (individual CFAV are to discuss expression of interest with the WWO in advance of applying).
Due to the advance level of drill training on this course, squadron commanders are reminded to ensure that their nominees are suitable and meet the pre-requisites before applying.

Worth calling out here theres 2 courses

DTC(I) which is wing level weekend course to provide the foundation on how to teach drill and should be treated as precursor to attending SSDIC. Its a good opportunity to get the foundation knowledge to build upon. You are not a DI after the course. You dont get white belts or pace sticks

Then theres SSDIC - which is the DI Course in the RAFAC. This is a week long/2 weekends where you learn to teach multiple movements and have to demonstrate good ability and aptitude in delivery, aswell as advanced knowledge. Cadets have been able to attend this as part of a specific course and its only been ran as part of the D&C Camp…now obviously D&C Camp isnt running atm so just waiting on guidance and plans to see if/how its rolled out to Cadets again.

Definitly do DTC(I) though provides a great foundation to build on and you can become valuable on Sqn

Thank you,
Is SSDIC open to all DTC passed cadets or just staff cadets

Staff cadets that have passed DTC(I)

Keep in mind places have been incredibly competitive in the past
