Burnout

How does one combat extreme burnout from cadets? My reason being as of recent months my motivation to attend has just been on a extreme downwards spiral, to the verge of considering jumping Squadron for something to have a change or step back from the Cadet Forces entirely. I’m also not saying this as someone who has been going for a few weeks I’m saying this as somebody who is been in for a while but miles ahead of people of who have been there longer (2+ years ahead) now being seen as “prized pony” by my squadron due to having overtaken sergeants in both classifications,drill and turnout,promotion timings, and now what feels like I’m doing the same jobs and work as a Flight Sergeant and being seen as a Flight Sergeant by other cadets despite only being a corporal such as constantly taking lesson such as classifications and drill and small general inspects of cadets (including sergeants) this has just caused me to feel guilty for constantly having been taking over from other corporals/sergeants or just constantly correcting things that are going wrong or being the one others go to ensure something is correct (mostly in drill). I want to bring this up to my staff at some point but I don’t know how to. (Also as of 8th aug I’ve been out of cadets for a month by just being out of country and still don’t feel ready to go back) if anybody could give some guidance on this would be appreciated

I think you answered your own question. Speak to your staff or senior Cdt NCO, whoever manages the NCO team.

Try to clarify what your role is and what you want to get out of it. Everyone has different strengths and weaknesses, that’s why we have a team of NCOs, so it’s not necessarily a problem that you cover some aspects while other NCOs focus on different things. Having said that, if you feel you’re doing too much compared to others in the team, then maybe that balance needs to be addressed.
