Burn in trousers

Can you get burn narks out of trousers ??

Afraid not, it is usually permanent.

Much like a cake, once it’s burnt that’s it.
Can’t unbake a cake. Just go to stores, cap in hand, and swap them for some new ones.

Not negative just how it is for the vast majority of sqns. We’re waiting for demands placed last October and this March to be completely filled, with another demand coming in October. I wish our parent station was close enough to just nip in. Why do you think sqns hold stock of pws? Even then available sizes are what they are. We’ve got several cadets with trousers that may look fashionable a couple of inches above the ankle, but they’re just waiting for new trousers.

The solution for the cadet is go and get a fresh pair.

If the squadron doesn’t have any, fair enough, they go “Sorry Robertmun12, we don’t have any trousers your size at the minute.
Keep wearing those for now, and we won’t worry about the burn if we do an inspection.”

For your next pair, bear this in mind:

The iron doesn’t need to be on the hottest setting - I use just hot enough to produce steam.

Allow the trouser to cool for short periods before going over the same spots again.

Place a flat (unembroidered/pattern-stitched) cotton tea towel or pillow case over the trousers.

Do a final go over with the steam turned off to dry them back out again.
