So for Bronze DofE, do any veterans have any tips and/or advice for someone who is doing it soon? Also what did you pack and use, and how long was it? Thanks for any replies 
It’s only a couple of hours walk each day, can’t remember the actual distance but we usually end up with the cadets finished by 2 or 3 in the afternoon… A pack of cards is often useful!
The best tip I can give is to get your boots well in advance and to wear them as much as possible before the trip - if you can get away with wearing them at school, do so. Even wearing them for 2 hours every night at home will have some effect.
The other thing is that it may well be cooler at night than you think it may be, but the weather is rarely as bad as we plan for…
