"Break up the RAF"

interesting article… http://www.telegraph.co.uk/news/uknews/defence/11642595/Break-up-the-RAF-and-stop-buying-British.html see the bottom of it as to who wrote it…

Of course, as an dark blue, his observations are completely unbiased!

Mr Page gets a bit of a negative review HERE.

Don’t worry, there’s only 2 1/2 years left of the experiment

I find it interesting that throughout the article and other press items about the author he is consistently referred to as a “former Officer” without any indication what rank he achieved.

a bit of digging around LinkedIn and Google i find he left as a Lt Cdr (Sqn Ldr equivalent).

Now i am not saying his achievement isn’t worthy to reach such a rank…but it doesn’t come with my clout. Not as if General Sir Mike Jackson is kicking up a fuss.
maybe i am reading too much into it but comes across as a bit of toys out the pram relatively former Junior spouting off an opinion

which of course is equally unbiased given the likely interest of the board members!

Article is a bit thin on proper facts and figure

I can’t imagine that the notion of breaking the RAF up hasn’t been spoken about at high levels. It does seem to be losing its relevance. Which doesn’t make me particularly happy but it has to be accepted.

The point of project mismanagement and overruns is very real and has dogged the MoD for years and partly the cause of the “black hole” in MoD finances that sparked the last defence cuts.
