Boots not polishing

Hi all, I have some altbergs and there’s a weird patch on one of the toe caps that won’t go away no matter how much polish I use, anyone have a fix for it please?

Suggest shoe cream. You might need to use a few layers. Then polish on top as normal.

You could also contact Altberg as they are pretty helpful

It’s just where the leather has scuffed. I would use something that’s better for the leather than paraffin based polish (which is what I assume you’re using). Altberg recommend Leder Gris which seems to work fine on mine. Remember your boots don’t need to shiny, just clean and the correct colour.

I’m just using saphir pate de luxe brown

So what you want is something to restore and dye the leather, then you can add layers on top as usual.

There’s a brand called Kaps that does a range of colours, try 149 or 152 depending on how dark your boots are. It’s not the cheapest but a little goes a long way. Try a small amount or a more hidden area first.

TRG is another brand that has a shade close to MOD Brown.

I’d then recommend Leder Gris for Altberg boots though, not Saphir.

It’s best to use the Altberg leder gris products on them. In fact, they work on most (if not all) military style boots.
