Anyone have any idea where you could find one of these illusive optional items? Or has anyone actually seen them being used?
I haven’t seen one in the flesh for a long while.
Having seen them being used I’d never get one myself! If I weren’t male anyway that is.
If you want to buy one, I’d try eBay.
Personally, I reckon more use could be had from stitching a custom zipped pocket to the inside of a stable belt. You could make it big enough to actually hold things.

My sisters used them a lot more years ago. (Girls could wear those on my unit when the powers-that-be decided stable belts were an NCO only item.) I don’t think they make them anymore.
There’s clearly more mileage in the idea of making stable purse belts. (With pockets that can actually fit an ID card in them this time.)
I found 2 in our OC Wing’s office and duly scrounged them. One was used when I did some photos for AP1358C (and the model got to keep it) while the other has been gathering dust on my desk and has just been stuck away in a drawer.
I certainly remember seeing a few around back WIWAC… haven’t seen one for at least ten years now though!
Funny this came up at the Sqn last week and I can’t remember the last time I saw one being worn. I had suggested some of our ladies looked but they couldn’t find them on ebay.
Other than a small amount of loose change, there’s basically ■■■■■■ all you can fit in them.
If they took a 3822 that might be of some use.
Personally, I reckon a lass would be better off with a small black leather handbag.
In fact, a few years ago I told all my female cadets that I’d found RAF handbags on ebay going at £4. One or two bought one.
I still see them in NAAFI shops here and there - tucked away in the corner that has parade gloss, shoe-laces, trouser-twists, waterproof notebooks, stable belts and odd bits of webbing.
My Daughter has one . She left Cadets a couple of years ago but hasn’t parted with any of the ‘own funded’ kit.
I shall have a dig in the ‘greens’ box…
