Best place to find No.1s (Female)?

Morning all, bit of a while since I last posted properly here (flashback to my last post being on the cadet side of things asking for advice on NCO nights…er, bit too long ago now!).

Had a query re: No. 1s: where would be best to look for these/look to purchase these? My parent stores is currently on a hiatus (something something asbestos something), and I would like to make sure I’m properly kitted out when the need arises (e.g. in case of anything on camps or further afield to Remembrance).

A lot of the current kit I already have has either been private purchase, remained with me when I initially left (due to it being privately acquired), or has been passed on by other sqns in my area/has been acquired from my own sqn stores. However, No. 1s is the only thing I currently do not own, and probably should.

Any advice would be highly appreciated!

Seen quite a lot advertised on ebay recently

There seems to be quite a few on Facebook Marketplace - that might be location dependent though as where I am is quite central to a few RAF stations. Once you see one set and click on it out of interest (I’ve just had mine tailored, after 21yrs they needed a bit of slack putting in them so not in the market for a new set) you get shown every set of No1s for sale in the local area, damn the algorithms

Do you have a ‘Wing WhatsApp’ group or similar to ask on, someone might have a set squirreled away they no longer want / fit in? They’re pretty price private purchase so I’d look at other options first

I have a Flying officer who is packing it in, tall and skinny, if it helps.

That was my approach, keep an eye out for who in your area is likely to bang out.

If going 2nd hand, always the tip to go bigger if in doubt on size, as a tailor can bring it in. Ebay a easy win although can be hard getting full sets. cetomilitaria.co.uk sometimes has stuff, google is always your friend!

Thanks all for responses so far - lot of ideas! Will say at this point in time, eBay may be the frontrunner (already got a couple of jackets I’ve seen/watchlisted!).

Unfortunately we don’t have a Whatsapp group for the Wing as @emz suggested - mainly only a FB group for adult CFAVs in Wing, but for the most part it’s all male staff in there…think my next option will be to check what I can glean from anyone at RIAT this year!!

Also, thank you for @MaxnBack and @Phantom’s ideas - unfortunately, I’m less tall and skinny, and more “short n sweet” (forgive the Sabrina Carpenter reference!!), so finding stuff that is likely to fit me in the first instance is a bit of a needle-in-haystack operation!

The site that @Sm12310 also sent through seems to be an entire trove of items, so I’m definitely going to have a proper look at that some point this week - noticing a lot of the older kit on there too, so might have to give that a recommendation to one of my NCOs (they have a part-time job working as a RAF re-enactment pilot from WWII, so that may be one for them to look at for any further kit as well).

Thanks all, very helpful so far and has given me a great starting base to work from!
