That looks stunning!
Shame the nose cone couldn’t be painted too, but then some of the on-board systems wouldn’t work
It doesn’t look that odd, some of them had gray/light blue nose cones anyway.

But they were only small - in front of the prop? The camo was painted over the cowling up to the end of the fuselage - where the prop was fitted and then the nose cone?
Shame the nose cone couldn’t be painted too, but then some of the on-board systems wouldn’t work
It’s a BAe product. Quite a few of the on-board systems probably don’t work anyway. :pinch:
If I remember correctly the nose also isn’t metal so its not a simple as slapping some paint on. I am not sure what the bulk of it is (probably some fore of fibre glass) but I know for a fact the tip is plastic and wouldn’t fair too well being painted.
All-metal radomes have proven to be sub-optimal
The Typhoon’s radome is constructed from complex layered glass fibre reinforced plastic but includes a structure of “frequency selective surface” materials which permit specific microwave frequencies to penetrate whilst serving to reduce the radar cross-section of the aircraft.
