I wear mine out of principle. Forage caps for cadets had disappeared by the early 70’s. berets started being issued as soon as battle dress became available. So the high collar and forage cap went together.

No need, the SG and IG Machine gun (platoons? Companies? @TheDon you probably know) wear their normal coloured Glengarrys in MTP,

No need for Camoflage hats if you’re playing a bagpipe next to a machine gunner i guess
