AT Applications - Attachments?

Being a couple of years out of the planning expeditions game, I wanted to check that I had it right in my mind what needs to be attached to an AT app on Bader (specifically DofE expeds) to get it approved. From the top of my head:

[ul]
[li]- Maps (Quo?) of the walk[/li]
[li]- Route Cards[/li]
[li]- Appropriate Risk Assessments (Camping, Stoves, Hiking etc.)[/li]
[li]- TOPL[/li]
[li]- DofE “Green” Form[/li]
[/ul]

A few questions:

  1. Is there anything missing off the list?
  2. Is TOPL the same as “Army Land Clearance”
  3. Where do I find a blank TOPL form to fill in, and where do I submit it?
  4. Where do I find a blank DofE “Green” Form to fill in, and where do I submit it?

Regards,
Irish

For 2, yes, TOPL is the same as ‘Army Land Clearance’

For 3, I recommend looking at the TOPL resources provided by Durham & Northumberland Wing:

https://sharepoint.bader.mod.uk/NorthRegion/DurNorWing/Adventure%20Training/Shared%20Documents/Forms/AllItems.aspx?RootFolder=https%3A%2F%2Fsharepoint.bader.mod.uk%2FNorthRegion%2FDurNorWing%2FAdventure%20Training%2FShared%20Documents%2FTOPL&FolderCTID=0x012000F9D111CAF34E604A924B19BC2836F6C8

The TOPL application form is in that folder as ‘Standard TOPL application form’.

The TOPL form is an annex to the training on private land Practitioner’s Guide, which a quick google should find you. Alternatively PM me and I’ll email the current copy to you.

Green form is on the DofE website and needs to be submitted to the appropriate wild country panel (e.g. Plas y Brenin for Snowdonia). Note there is a long lead time - some 8 weeks in advance of the exped.

We don’t normally have to submit route cards on our AT applications, just a .gpx file of the route. But that will be entirely Wing dependent.
