Anything I can do to help towards getting first class?

Like online documents or anything else, or anything that can help towards getting first class.

You could ask your squadron staff for the learning resources, but I don’t think there’s much point. There aren’t any tests or anything, other than maybe a drill assessment. You just need to turn up, engage in the lessons and fill out the relevant parts of your logbook when you get to them.

Just make sure you’re at squadron for all of the lectures and take it easy, don’t rush ahead or try and do things at home - it’s in your squadron’s best interests as well to get you through the syllabus. I tried but ultimately it’s pointless, your staff will only sign off booklets when the rest of the intake has also finished theirs so just engage with the lessons that you get and make good notes

It’s so slow to start with and you just have to go with it for a fair few months. As mentioned above the only “test” is the drill assessment which is not expecting you to be perfect , but to have knowledge of basic commands.

You got this!

Thank you!

Lrarn your phonetic alphabet!
Practice drill!
Be there as much as possible as others have said.
Go and learn more about map reading.
The maps are tiny/not good so take your time with learning it. The staff will probably give you the answers! (Rhum and Potters bar)
The next lessons are harder and powerpoints are basic and hard for most staff to understand so just persevere with it! A lot of the CFAV dont have time to do the extra stuff unless they are really interested!

Already know my phonetic alphabet since my mum’s in the police and my dad’s ex-police,

Been there as much as I can and have, I’ve also been paying attention and trying to answer as many questions I can and take up as many events as I can attend.
