I’ve noticed this tie for sale, but it features an ATC emblem I’ve never seen before, three birds with the motto “Aim High”, all in blue?
Can’t find much online about it, anyone know anything about it?

Probably some old custom tie. Maybe a squadron had them made up or something.
Gaelic motto - from “Amas Ard” maybe??
So, Scottish link??
HQ Highland wing used to use that motto before the wings changed in SNI.
I’ve not seen it before on anything ‘Highland Wing’ but I’ve sent the details onto a friend who is now retired from RAFAC but was in Highland Wing for many years before my time in the Wing.
From a heraldic equivalency perspective, “three birds in a circlet” this badge could be a varient upon the international sports gliding symbol:
Agreed that the motto / slogan did make me think of old Highland Wg, but that exact design isn’t directly familiar.
The badge design’s absence of any Sqn number (an iconic inclusion in most ATC symbology) makes it possibly a formation badge for a now-disbanded VGS: another possibility might’ve been an old ground training school (along the lines of classic proto-ATF in pre-Cranwell days).
One day we will stumble upon the definitive answer (and there is the distinct possibility that a dusty formation plaque / shield on someone’s wall could give us that)
I fear that we won’t know until someone spots it, I could be anything corps wide really I suppose
