Talking personal activities here, not RAFAC. I can’t imagine the paperwork involved to get cadets up in the air!
But I’m considering starting to learn paragliding. Just wondering if any of you fly, and if so, I have some Qs!
What’s the learning like? Time wise how quickly do you pick it up to the point of being able to go out solo? How expensive is it? I looked up wing costs but as with most things there is a HUGE verity!
Any comments would be appreciate

It’s a combination of many things, that included!
It’s something I’ve always wanted to do, but never had the time or funds to do it. Now I’m in a location that has multiple schools near by, and I have more annual leave. So it would seem like a good idea. Just worried it’ll still be a bit of a money pit 
I have one colleague who does it a lot, and I’ve been chatting with him. But he does mad stuff. Last weekend he did 17 hours in the air. Chamonix to Grenoble and back over 2 days. Thus asking on here for someone a bit more sane
