Parachuting is now off the activity list…
Already was from ages ago?
You could have said that it had been “dropped”
not so version 16.0 which was valid last month did show parachuting on the list,
Oddly actually Version 17 (which is dated July 24) still shows it though…???
But there are no approved courses, ergo, it was already stopped.
IBN has been issued
that may be so (but I cannot see it on the IBN list on Sharepoint) - but a document less than a month old (ACTO010) is already out of date…left hand not talking to the right hand…again!
I think you’re seeing things before us again! Nothing actually on Sharepoint yet that I could see.
it came through as a reminder of the IBN which I never saw before… just checked the date - Jan this year… I’m guessing someone has asked the question… again lack off/mixed messages
Ah, makes sense then. I knew it had already been banned, was surprised to see it on ACTO 10 still. But as i said above, still not doable as there no approved centres.
Another one that goes because of the lack of capacity in the parent service for ‘assurance’. Disappointing really when it’s qualification managed in the same was as for other AT activities.
“Hello and welcome to mastermind. Your specialised subject is military youth organisations. You have 3 minutes to answer as many questions as possible, your time starts now!”
"I can go parachuting, marshal vehicles in a car park and fly in non-service aircraft…what am I?
Sorry, enjoying the NASC too much…change what exactly? Not sure what you are asking.
Sir, we used to do parachuting. This has been paused and then withdrawn completely as an approved activity.
Please can you change it back to something that cadets can do again - like ACPS.
#VentureAdventure
Following the ACPS model I guess it would need to be via a military provider @Cab can assure - which could be tricky with minors. But worth a try, I agree.
There used to be 2-day static line courses at Weston on the Green but I don’t know if there’s the capacity to provide those now.
Audit and approve the parachute school at Sibson.
Accommodate at the (underused) cadet centre at RAF Wittering a mere 7 minutes away.
Bosh, a solution.
@Cab I really wouldn’t mind if you run with this and take the credit.
Mid-week only, try booking a weekend between now and summer 2025
I was going to ask, how easy is it to book in?
Midweek’s not a bad shout if staff can get the time off work though.
