An alternative to a SOV

I noticed this on afors.com and given the parallels with the RAFAC and relative affordability it would be tempting to consider it!

Yours on Grob115 for only £10k

edit: link to the a/c in question - The Aircraft & Aviation sales App | AFORS

of course the on-going costs would make it foolish, not to mention the paperwork in flying Cadets which would be the sole reason to purchase it and of course would need an airfield close enough to Squadron to make it useable and of course Staff qualified to use it, but a nice idea.

Worked for the Fireflies at Barkston Heath.

Nice. But needs a lot of work to bring up to spec.

Also no acto 35 means no chance.
But let be honest, if we canot even get HQAC to sign off on paintballing, can you imagine them letting a sqn set up it’s own airforce!

And that sqn air force of 1 airframe would be more efficient than the whole 2FTS in the last 5 years

That’s the dream.

i know a unit which has enough watersports equipment it could form its own flotilla!

What happened to the Sting aircraft built as part of the Centennial Wings project by Northern Ireland cadets : https://www.boeing.co.uk/news-media-room/news-releases/2018/july/boeing-air-league-and-royal-air-force-air-cadets-celebrate.page ?

Have any cadets ever flown in the aircraft ? the aircraft is registered in the personal name of John Middleton at 2FTS, Syerston

Well, ee’s been sacked

sacked or not he is still showing as the registered owner on the CAA database…
