One the one hand, anyone who committed war crimes needs to be held to account. No society can claim to be civilised whilst this doesn’t happen.
On the other, it feels like this guy is being made a scapegoat so that others can get away with it. The situation makes me question who in his CoC he really miffed off.
I must admit I don’t know the Ins and Outs of this case but it can’t be an easy rule to follow if there is one side following and one side not.
Rules can go out of the window when there are people in uniform and others that are dressed as irregular troops that can tend to follow their own
in war innocence is usually the first victim followed by what’s right and wrong.
Not that it’s always happened in conflicts throughout history be it German / Russian / American or even British. There’s always been an element of getting rid of prisoners - even if I remember correctly when an RM despatched a badly wounded Afghan fighter that was dying but was caught on mobile phone
it’s never good but should never be condoned but when your friends are getting picked off I do get it…..
