Air Cadet Staff Federation

Try that sort of stunt anywhere else and you’d be on the end of a grievance procedure.

I don’t know why you’ve aimed that at me?

Some cadets can have Bader access. Not all, I appreciate, but my staff cadets all do.

And I would download it and send it to them if they needed it and didn’t have access.

Not at you personally, just because you said it was easy to get access to bader to read the relevant documents, and as my chum found out, it can be made very difficult indeed.

Well yes if you’re suspended it would be harder. That would be where any proper system would have an AO appointed who would get that for them. But the comment was made because someone said it was impossible for cadets to access Bader and it absolutely isn’t.

If the ACO porports to follow RAF rules then why is the CoC stopping people engaging ‘independent’ individuals rather than an AO to represent their interests. An AO can be 'leaned; upon by the CoC to deliver the result wanted not one that is fair or just. Any serviceperson has the right to indepndent counsel and advice as inparticular QRs and MAMLs are published open documents, why is ACP20 in this instance not a publically openly available documenton the internet or to legal representatives at least?

I think there is confusion here between Administrative Action & Disciplinary Action, the former is to address performance issues & matters that would not lead to discharge, the latter is for serious issues usually tied in with allegations of breaking the law. As with an internal performance process in any workplace performance issues are usually kept internal.

Just to add that suspension is usually only advocated where allegations of wrongdoing are made & not for cocking up in your duties.

Suddenly when there is talk in this thread regarding the use of ‘independent’ advocates ‘War Kitten’ pops up, are you the CRAFAC?

Nope just a voice of reason & considering by your own admission you’re a former Civ Comm Chair with an axe to grind, some repostes are needed at times.

Having seen and heard how the organisation operates with bullying spin and deception and I heard some of these concerns long before I became a civ com chair I feel my comments along with many others are valid. I resigned in disgust how the system operates and in that regard would not put my professional qualification at risk.

You still haven’t answered the question, are you the CRAFAC?

I did answer, no I’m not, just a volunteer who accepts that not everything is rosy but it could be a whole lot worse & one that gets hacked off with those like you who having nothing but negativity. If I was a cadet reading this forum at times I’d probably leave.

Yeah, but you didn’t give him the answer he wanted to hear, so he ignored you…

No, I’ve actually read the reply.

Not in my experience. In my neck of the woods, suspension seems to be the norm.

As in the real life example above, my friend was suspended, simply because a member of staff on his squadron was thought to have made a procedural error whilst carrying out an activity. Please note that the OC was suspended, even though he wasn’t included on the activity manifest, and didn’t take part in any of the activity.

Well yes that is wrong, there are still some “suspend first question later” WExOs out there, but afaik suspensions should be agreed by the P staff at HQAC before being implemented (to avoid complaints).

CRAFAC? What is this?

Commandant Royal Air Force Air Cadets

Cheers bob. I did wonder that but wasn’t a 100% sure.

Point is it isnt though is it. HQAC dont do joined up thinking ever. They muddle along making endless errors (especially with personal data).I have had personal experience of being on the end of a complaint. It was a farce from start to finish.A pathetic “investigation” which was nothing of the sort. Then a so called hearing. Ive sat in on court martials in my time and seen endless charges in my RAF service(mostly as an escort). All of them dealt with things better than HQAC do or will ever do. Ive also seen friends service in the Corps destroyed because of ones mans vindictiveness. Im glad ive left now as from my standpoint things are just getting worse and the lack of respect shown to staff by higher command is a disgrace. The one saving grace is the cadets themselves who arent much different to the cadets I knew when I was one.
