Hey I recently heard from one of our nco’s that the first aim of the corps (to promote and encourage among young men and women) has been changed to among young people. Can anyone clarify this please

As far as I was aware it’s been young people for years.
Doesn’t make any difference. all just semantics and wordplay.
It says “men and women” in the 2017 version of the 3822 insert on sharepoint. It is possible that it was arbitrarily changed in subsequent printings of the 3822 and I don’t know where the main source of the wording would be.
Another previous edition split the aims into 4 items, but that was reversed.
As above though, it all means the same thing to most people, but is less binary.
