AEF Staff Cadet

Hi all,

Was buying some kit for cadets recently and as iv just become a flight staff cadet I was wondering what is the best thing to wear under a flight suit in summer and winter months?
Thanks

Underwear, best not to go commando.

If you’re flying (regardless of time of year); long layers on both arms and legs - it’s an issue of protection.

If you’re not; shorts and t-shirt are fine.

Following the VGS dress rules as per AP1358C chapter 7 would seem most logical, and that speaks about a standard issue OG aircrew vest.

If issued a flying suit you will be issued with the approved undergarments which are the only ones to be worn

Speak nicely to your Squipper’s. They may well provide you with long johns a vest and roll neck.

Don’t buy anything you can get if you ask.

Which AEF are you going to?

What’s the best thing to wear under it if I won’t be flying for a while? Might be getting the issue long johns etc. but not yet.

If you aren’t going to be flying for a while then a t shirt is perfectly acceptable when on the ground. Olive green preferably, but check with your squadron as they may have a colour of choice.
