Adult Staff helping out in other regions

Hi,

We have a shooting event going on in our region and I know people from another region who is interested in helping out to gain some experience in that field. Would this actually be possible and is there anything that really needs to be done other then receiving a written approval from the event IC?

Thanks.

If other staff from other regions/wings asked me to help out, I’d grab them with both hands…

After all, we’re all the same badge…

Share the resources, support each other, build friendships.

Next week, there might be something happening in their region… and they might need help.

I wouldn’t even say written permission is needed - SMS would cover it. A director would need to add them as presumably their Sqn isn’t invited so can’t add themselves.

Normally helping at Sqn level it’s curtesy to let both OCs know (and permission from the one your visiting) or long term help supernumary. But events is easier with sms

basically this.

I have done it before, it was to a neighbouring Wing, but was also a different region. Pre-SMS it was exactly as above, the event IC was informed a Non-Wing face would be seen and I told my OC so they knew i was on duty that weekend.

Post-SMS makes it easy, but always nice to be polite and keep OCs informed. if photos turn up of you helping out or worse and injury takes place your OC will not want that to be the way they found out you were on an event

Staff is easy you just add to Bader.

If it involves Cadets I have previously been told I need to get the permission of the relevant ARC.
