Activities organised by cadets, outside of cadets

I’m just after some advise and not to open a can of worms, but, if a cadet (Over 18) was to make a secret Facebook group of some cadets from their squadron (over and under 18) with the intention of organising meeting up and doing things such as paint balling outside of the cadets how far would they have to separate it from the squadron for it to be OK. This has happened and the cadet who has done this has been put in a strange spot before hand by the staff for a while, this is why I asked however to keep things simple I will leave it out.

Surely if a group of schoolfriends wish to organise some sort of social activity off their own backs, in their own time and using their own stuff then that has got nothing whatsoever to do with the ACO…

Sorry, didn’t make it clear I meant more the cadet organising it while at the squadron.

What they do in their time, away from squadron, away from the staff is nothing to do with us. Unless it directly affects things at unit. Even if they organise it on squadron time.

Thank-you, that was a simple one.

What the other have said, we went out as mates quite a lot BUT be aware of implied association among the stupid people, ie it’s all cadets going and therefore it’s a cadet activity. Yes it’s nonsense but we live in world where there are no such things as accidents anymore and someone will look to blame someone else.

providing it was done in “down time”/canteen and not announced on parade, or on the notice board it is no different to them discussing a birthday party or meeting up in townto go to the cinema…

that is how i would see it anyway!

My comment was as much a hint as it was an observation
