If a Cadet passes and completes ACLC, they earn the right to wear the Gold Leadership Badge. No lanyard is earned, nor is any lanyard required when signing up.
If a Cadet passes and completes the Junior Leaders Course, they earn the right to wear the Gold Leadership Badge AND the maroon lanyard.
To summarise, both courses result in the Gold Leadership Badge being awarded, but only Junior Leaders results in the maroon Lanyard to be given.

Yellow Lanyard: Method of Instruction Cadet.
Eligibility: Master Air Cadet who is 16 or over, completed the Method of Instruction Course and delivered a successfully assessed lesson. This is no longer called a Staff Cadet
Blue Lanyard: Qualified Aerospace Instructors Course (QAIC)
Eligibility: Master Air Cadet who is 16 or over, obtained GCSE Grade 4 Maths and English Language minimum, completed all weekends and final Graduation Week.
Eligibility: Master Air Cadet who is 17 or over, obtained GCSE Grade 4 Maths and English Language minimum, normally need to be Cpl and above (not always) and completed all weekends and final Graduation Week.
