Has ACFTI 001 not been superseded by the new ACP16?
Either way, it’s a policy document that’s more relevant to staff planning the activity.
If you’re attending, we can possibly help with specific questions? You shouldn’t need a copy as an attendee.
If you’re planning the activity, you’ll need to ask your staff to give you a copy of the new ACP16 Vol 1 and 2.
we have been told if we want to bring webbing it has to follow the criteria in the ACFTI1
That just sets some limits on the number of pouches, however it is unlikely, unless someone has a ‘special forces’ type set up that it will exceed it.
This is what it says:
Belt
Yoke
Ammunition pouches (max 2)
Utility Pouch up to a maximum x3
Water Bottle Pouch
Seems odd that you can’t have a second water bottle pouch in lieu of the third utility pouch? I always used to have two water bottles and filled everything else with ammo and grenades.
Does that mean that I can’t use my set - pooch set up of 2 x ammo and 3 x waterbottle? hahaha
You can - it was probably put in there to ensure at least 1 canteen pouch. Some of the more recent utility pouches are too small for a ‘58 pattern bottle!
My PLCE has exactly that - a canteen pouch left and right and a utility in the middle. My thinking is I am more likely to need to grab water when I’m wearing it than my cleaning kit.
Depending on my role, I’d have one bottle I drink from (left) and one I don’t so I can use it to replenish cadets’ bottles or use for first aid, but with the fashion for daysacks I’d now keep spare water in that. Haven’t felt the need to change the pouch over though.
