A new Aircraft type? - Sting S4

Seen and pinched from pprune (See Dave Thompson’s comment 25 April) but:

visit Search the G-INFO aircraft register | Civil Aviation Authority and type in "NIAC" and take a look at the “registered owners”

is this a toy for 2FTS to play with during their lunch hour? Or as this classes as a Microlight are 2FTS/RAFAC following up on the microlight hint CAC mentioned a couple of months ago?
(see paragraph 3 - CAC Blog 10 Feb)

Either way seems 2FTS have a Sting S4 on their fleet inventory!!

When are they grounding it?

As above

It’s a self build cadet project

Why does John Middleton need to appear as the registered owner instead of, say, the actual owner?

To claim credit for getting someone in the air?

As already said it’s a self build project which Northern Ireland Wing are doing. They have a twitter page which you can find more information. The team recently sent it away to a local air field for engine tests before it is approved for test flights. All going well it will be flying at RIAT this year
