Sorry if this appears as bit of a stupid question, but what is meant by “a parade night on stand down”?
It is a normal, scheduled parade night but on which the squadron has decided not to actually parade.
For example, if you are normally parading on Tuesdays or Thursdays, but decide just to do Tuesdays over the summer, the Thursday would class as “on stand down”.
Similarly, if the place cannot open due to weather or staffing issues, it is a stand-down, as would be a holiday such as christmas/new year.
As a concept in SMS, its time is limited.
