I reckon in my Cadet Career that was more common that 3822 washing!

When I started in the 70s 3822s lived in the ‘tunic’ breast pocket of the battledress.
3822 washing became a thing when we went to ‘normal’ trousers, which got put in the wash, which the BD trousers never did.
The damage inflicted by a spin in the tub seemed to increase when we moved from hard to soft cover pages.
